Safari Highlights
After an early breakfast, your guide from Openbill Safaris Uganda will transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your scheduled domestic flight to southwestern Uganda.
You will fly to either Kihihi Airstrip (serving the northern sectors of Bwindi) or Kisoro Airstrip (serving the southern sectors of the park). The scenic flight takes about 1–2 hours and offers stunning aerial views of Uganda’s diverse landscapes.
Upon arrival at the airstrip, your safari driver guide will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After check-in, enjoy lunch and spend the rest of the day relaxing while surrounded by the lush rainforest environment. You may also take a short optional community walk to experience the local culture.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a briefing by the park rangers about gorilla trekking rules and safety guidelines.
You will then be assigned a gorilla family and begin trekking through the dense rainforest accompanied by experienced trackers and guides. The trekking experience can take between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family.
Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one magical hour observing and photographing them as they feed, play, groom each other, and interact within their family group.
This intimate encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas is truly one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife experiences.
After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation and to share stories about your incredible adventure.

After breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred back to either Kihihi Airstrip or Kisoro Airstrip for your scheduled domestic flight back to Entebbe International Airport.
Enjoy the scenic flight over the rolling hills and lakes of southwestern Uganda before arriving in Entebbe. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the airport for your international departure flight or to your hotel if extending your stay in Uganda.
