Tour Plan

Day 1: Pickup and Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali, you will be welcomed by your guide. After a brief introduction, you'll embark on a scenic transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park, a journey of approximately 5 hours. During the drive, you will pass through Rwanda’s beautiful rolling hills, offering breathtaking views of the countryside.

Upon arrival at Nyungwe, check in to your lodge and relax for the evening. Depending on the time, you can enjoy the serene environment of the park or explore its surroundings.

Day 02 Chimpanzee Trekking and Afternoon Canopy Walk

After breakfast, head to Nyungwe Forest for your chimpanzee trekking adventure. Nyungwe is home to a large population of wild chimpanzees, and you’ll have the opportunity to trek through the forest to observe these amazing primates in their natural habitat. The trekking experience is both thrilling and educational, as you will learn about chimpanzee behavior and their role in the ecosystem.

In the afternoon, embark on a canopy walk through the forest. Suspended above the ground, this unique walk offers spectacular views of Nyungwe’s lush landscape, as well as opportunities to observe forest birds and primates in the trees. It's a great way to see the forest from a different perspective while enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings.

Day 03 Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic transfer to Volcanoes National Park, home to Rwanda's famous mountain gorillas. The drive takes about 5-6 hours, offering beautiful views of Rwanda’s countryside, with green hills and small villages along the way.

Upon arrival at Volcanoes National Park, check in to your lodge, relax, and prepare for the exciting adventures that await you in the park.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking and Community Visit

Today is the highlight of your trip: gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. After an early breakfast, you will head to the park for a briefing and then embark on the trek to find the mountain gorillas. Accompanied by an expert guide, you will trek through the dense jungle, with the possibility of encountering other wildlife along the way. Once you find the gorillas, you’ll have an unforgettable hour to observe them in their natural habitat.

In the afternoon, visit a local community near the park. This gives you the chance to learn about the local culture and customs, and the community's role in conservation. You'll have the opportunity to interact with the locals, learn traditional dances or music, and explore the rural life of the area.

Day 5: Departure to Kigali to Catch Flight

After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Kigali. The drive takes about 2.5 hours, and once in Kigali, you may have time for a quick city tour or some last-minute shopping at the local markets. Afterward, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport to catch your flight.
