Tour Plan

Day 1: Pickup from Hotel or Kigali Airport and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali, you will be welcomed by your guide, who will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park. The drive takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, passing through beautiful hills and lush green landscapes. Once at the park, check in to your lodge and relax. Depending on your arrival time, you can enjoy an evening at leisure or explore the surrounding areas.

Day 02 Gorilla Trekking and Community Visit

After an early breakfast, you will head to Volcanoes National Park for the highlight of the trip: gorilla trekking. Trekking through the dense forest, you’ll get the chance to meet one of the world’s most endangered species – the mountain gorillas. Your experienced ranger guide will lead you through the trails to where the gorillas are. Once you reach them, you’ll have an hour to observe their behavior, take photos, and enjoy the rare and unforgettable experience of being close to these incredible creatures.

In the afternoon, visit a local community near the park. This visit provides insight into the culture, lifestyle, and traditions of the local people, many of whom are involved in conservation efforts. You’ll have the chance to interact with the community, learn about their daily life, and experience their warm hospitality.

Day 03 Transfer to Lake Kivu, Boat Cruise, and Activities on the Lake

After breakfast, depart for Lake Kivu, one of East Africa’s largest lakes, known for its stunning beauty and peaceful ambiance. The drive from Volcanoes National Park to Lake Kivu is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, passing through the picturesque Rwandan countryside.

Upon arrival, embark on a boat cruise on Lake Kivu, which offers amazing views of the lake surrounded by hills and beaches. You can explore nearby islands, enjoy the serenity of the lake, and observe the local fishing communities.

In the afternoon, enjoy various activities at Lake Kivu, such as swimming, kayaking, or nature walks along the shores. You can also take time to relax and unwind at one of the lakeside resorts.

Day 4: Morning Nature Walk and Transfer to Kigali

On your last day, take a morning nature walk around Lake Kivu, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful views of the lake and surrounding hills. Afterward, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge.

In the late morning or early afternoon, begin your transfer back to Kigali. The drive to Kigali takes approximately 3 hours. Once in Kigali, you may have time for a brief city tour or last-minute shopping before being transferred to the airport for your flight.
